TALENTS AND GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.....(3)

Last time we talked more on talents, and before we get to compare and contrast talents and the gifts of the Holy Spirit, let us talk about the gifts!

Gifts of the Holy Spirit

We can simply define gifts as something given without expecting payments. When we talk of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, we are not paying to get them.
The bible says that in the book of 1 Corinthians 12:11 "All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines.NIV. The Holy Spirit gives the gifts as He pleases.

The God gives not just for no reason but He has a predetermined purpose and a plan of what He gives.
We read from Ephesians 4:10-13
"He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe. 11 It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers,
12 to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.NIV

We can see that verse twelve explains to us why are we given what we are given. The gifts and ministries that God give us are for the church. The church is supposed to be perfected to reach the standards of Christ and we are not yet there and so God wants to use His people, the church so as the church can be perfected!

From the book of Rom 12:3-8 the bible says  "For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you. 4 Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. 7 If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; 8 if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.NIV

Unlike talents, not everyone have these gifts, they are only found in believers. The people who have agreed to give their lives to Jesus Christ and are filled with the Holy Spirit.

In the next session we are going to see in deep on the differences of the two, so keep in touch.

                                  to be continued...

I AM GRATEFUL TO MY LIVING GOD!

GOD, YOU ARE MY GOD!

When I look back over my life, my heart can not refrain but just give thanks to God! He has been there for my family and each of us individually. I really thank God for my mother who is a strong, wise, intelligent, loving woman! I am happy that she is my mother.

Flashing back 18 years from today, is when my father passed away. I'm not that old so you can imagine how I was 18 years back. Being left a widow with four small children, it is something. If one is not strong enough, can even end up dying as well! God bless you mom.

I do not have beautiful words enough to express this, but I thank God for my sisters and here is what they said and I loved it.

Gee Lifard
Kama si Mungu, Islaeli na aseme sasa. Its been 18yrs cnc he was gone. God has never abandoned us. we av grown big, G2G. Big up to our dearest, lovely, strong Mom. We love you soooooooooooooooooooo big!

He had four daughters and his attitude was “Mtoto ni mtoto awe wa kiume au wa kike “he was proud having daughters and never regretted not having boys That’s our DAD…it has been 18yrs now since he passed away in 1995 when I was in Standard four.

when we get to meet with people who he had been to school with, what you will hear from them is” he was very very intelligent and good man”, too bad we cannot inherit his certificate otherwise I could have been a very good engineer somewhere, but am happy he left us good memories for the time he spent with us, the things he gave us and how he made us feel that’s why today I can proudly say that our father loved us.

As human being we have our part in doing things but without God we cannot do anything…Mom we love you very much and you did your part very well and we are proud of you, God I thank you for everything….whatever she did it’s because you were with her one step at a time.

As we remember this day I would love to share few things I have learned:-
FATHERS – Your Kids sees what you do, I was just in std 4 when he passed away, since it was in January so the good times with him I had in std 3 and yrs back, I remember them till today no body is perfect so I remember the bad times to, but am happy to say the good where many.
Today I wonder what if he would have not wanted mom to go to work.
What if he had married a woman who is irresponsible?

RIP our father Lifard Mlawa.

As we remember this day pls join with us and say a little prayer for our mom so that she will live to see her Vitukuu and have a happy life.

You may not know me or anybody from my family. What i want you to grasp from this is that, God loves us no matter what you are going through or what, what you might have face in life, God knows and He always care!

ONE YEAR OLDER...

It is a great thing to see another year. Maybe you have lived to see so many years come and go or you have never experienced a situation where you fill like you do not have the strength to make it one more second and you end up taking things for granted. Trust me, it is just by grace that we are able to live today, to see this year and it is NOT for no reason.

Being the 7th day of the year, it is still morning and in case you haven't planned anything yet, you need to do so. So many people think negatively, they are afraid of disappointments and so they avoid planning and expecting anything.

Check this out...

WHAT are you expecting?are you expecting something or nothing at all,if you take a look u will find that u get what u expect,Let us expect Great things in 2013,and let our expectation be REALISTIC expectation (Not putting your expectation to people but to God ,and if person has to do a certain things then GOD will work through them).....Apart from everything i wish that every 1 of us will have close and personal relationship with GOD and protect the relationship at all cost...because only GOD can not be shaken so shake off all the worries, pain, tough time your going through ,sickness and diseases, unhappiness and unanswered question of life and get close to GOD (Spend time with him,run to him, read his world, have prayer time)start where you are with what u have..I BLESS YOU IN THE NAME OF JESUS.!!!HaPpY nEw YeAr 2013 .

I read this and surely you will agree with me that it is something powerful.

Stop taking for granted the time you have. God has protected you, led you through because He knows that you can do something for His glory in His kingdom.
How do you plan? Do not make God as one of the categories in your life but let Him be your everything, the center of your life!

We are all growing a year older every year, may there be significant changes in our lives. Let there be growth not only physically but also spiritually and mentally. Seek to do things at higher levels.

If you trust in God you will surely have a positive attitude, put that smile on your face and be sure that God has so much for you because He says in Jeremiah 29:11 that He knows the plans He has for you. And since His ways are not our ways, seek to walk on God's ways because there is where you will find His plans and the true purpose He has for your life!

WISHING YOU ALL A PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR IN EVERY CORNER OF YOUR LIFE SO THAT GOD MAY BE GLORIFIED!!!
